If you’ve been charged with DUI in Arizona you need to be aware that Arizona has some of the stiffest sentencing laws on the books when it comes to punishment for DUI, even a first offense for DUI for a person who has no other criminal record or even a speeding ticket requires mandatory jail time. The fines alone can be staggering and you’re also looking at increased insurance premiums and having your driver’s license suspended. You could also be required to install an ignition interlock device on your car which would require you to blow into a tube on your dashboard before the car will even be able to start. You could be required to do that for a year after you were convicted of DUI. You have to pay for all these things. DUI is a very expensive offense in Arizona.
